How to apply for Tax Exempt status?

 
For tax exempt status, please visit the Membership Desk of your local club and provide a copy of state-required tax exemption documents—this can differ by state.
 

NOTE:  All cardholders on a Tax Exempt Membership can purchase tax-exempt unless not approved by the Membership's primary cardholder.
 

Check if your Membership is approved as tax exempt:

  1. Sign in to your online account
  2. Open your account information
  3. View the Profile page to see your tax exempt status near the bottom
 

Not a Sam's Club Member:

If you are not a Sam's Club Member but would like to become one and apply for tax-exempt status, please visit the nearest Sam's Club to apply for Membership. A Membership can be created online, but applying for Tax Exempt status can only be completed by visiting the club.
