Please find below the most frequently asked questions about shipping online orders with Samsclub.com.
Who is eligible for Free Shipping?
Plus members (primary and complimentary) with an active membership receive free shipping on eligible orders of $50 or more. On orders below $50, Plus members pay a flat rate fee of $8. Other restrictions and limitations may apply.
Club members, guest members, add-ons, Plus add-ons with an active membership, and their guests may be eligible for free shipping on a limited assortment of items that are marked accordingly. Most items will incur shipping costs.
NOTE: Free shipping for both Plus members and Club members is limited to a total of up to 10 addresses on eligible orders.
Do Club members qualify for free shipping?
Club members only receive free shipping on items denoted by “Free shipping.” Shipping charges on items may vary.
How do I know if I'm a Plus Member?
Easy! There are a couple of ways to check if you have a Plus membership:
- Look at your membership card, either the physical card or in the Sam’s Club app. If you’re a Plus member, your card will have a “Plus” label.
- Log in to your SamsClub.com account or register your membership number with a new account. After you’ve signed in, go to Your Account > Membership. Next to “Membership Type,” it will say either “Club” or “Plus.”
What items are ineligible for free shipping?
Some exclusions apply, see terms.
- Most large items shipping with a freight carrier.
- Orders generated from reseller sites.
- Free shipping is limited to ground shipping.
- Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories (i.e., Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.) and post office boxes are excluded.
Will I receive free expedited shipping with my Plus membership?
No. Free shipping on eligible orders of $50 or more is limited to ground shipping. Faster shipping methods will incur a cost unless specified as free.
Is free shipping available from the club?
Free shipping on eligible orders of $50 or more for Plus members applies only to online items and does not include shipping from the club. Learn more about Delivery from Club.
Can I order shipped items and items from the club (curbside pickup or delivery from club) in the same order?
Yes. You can mix items shipped from our fulfillment centers with items available for curbside pickup or delivery from your local club, all in one convenient order. Simply choose your preferred fulfillment method for each item during checkout.
Is there an order minimum for Free Shipping?
Yes, there is a $50 minimum on eligible items for Plus members to get free shipping for included locations.
How are shipping costs determined?
- The shipping cost for most items is based on the item’s size, weight, shipping method and delivery address.
- In your shopping cart, we show an estimated shipping cost based on our lowest-price shipping method and presuming that all items in your cart are going to a single address within the contiguous United States.
- If a different shipping method or address outside the continental United States is available and selected, the actual shipping cost will most likely be increased and an additional surcharge may apply. Shipping may not be available to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories (i.e. Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.) and post office boxes.
Why is the delivery agent trying to charge me more for shipping?
This can happen if you paid for one level of service but request another. If you did not request extra delivery services and the carrier is trying to charge extra, please contact us to report the issue immediately.
NOTE: Do not pay the carrier or delivery agent any amount if extra delivery services were not requested or provided.
Can I receive a reduced shipping rate if I make a large purchase?
In most scenarios, the answer is no. Orders which total a pallet size approximately 4' high and/or a minimum quantity of 50 are automatically shipped LTL to reduce shipping expenses. For more details or to submit a volume request, see Truckloads.
What is the total shipping time for my order?
The total shipping time for your order is determined by two factors: Processing and Shipping.
Processing is the time between submitting your order and when the item leaves the warehouse. For most items, processing time is done electronically and usually completed in 1 to 2 business days for small parcel and 1 to 7 business days for larger items that ship Freight.
Shipping begins when the item leaves the warehouse to when it arrives at the selected delivery destination. We send an email with tracking once your order has shipped.
The following items typically require extra processing time:
- Specialty furniture
- Jewelry
- Mattresses
- Personalized items such as water bottles
- Installable items such as hot tubs, vending machines, industrial kitchens, safes, garage doors and appliances.
How do I change my shipping address?
Use your account's address book to save your shipping address(es) and access during checkout.
What should I do if the tracking number I receive is not working?
It can take 1 to 2 business days for the tracking number to be registered and/or scanned in the carrier’s system. This could prevent or delay visibility to your shipment, so please try again after waiting a full weekday.
If two business days have passed after you receive your tracking email, and you are still unable to track the order, please contact us for an update to your order status.
Why was my order sent in multiple packages when it all could have fit in one box?
Items ordered online may ship from multiple locations, making them unavailable to ship in one box.
What if my order is not delivered?
How do I check the status of my order?
After any order is complete, you will receive an email confirming the purchase. After the order ships, you will receive a second email with tracking information. This information is also available through your online Account Information > Order History.
What if an order has damaged items?
Please return any items using your online account, or contact us for help with the return.
What are the shipping methods available?
For most products only standard shipping is available, but select items are shipped express:
Standard: 3 to 5 business days
Express: 1 to 2 business days
NOTE:
- The shipping times above do not include processing time.
- Some items are only available within the Continental 48 U.S. states.
- Weather-related shipping delays are not within the control of SamsClub.com.
Freight Shipping Methods:
Items that are too large and/or too heavy to ship small parcel are shipped with a designated freight carrier. After a freight carrier receives your order, they will contact you to set up a delivery time. Typically, delivery times are within a 4-hour window Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
NOTE: Some areas are not serviced daily and may require additional day(s) for delivery. Please provide up-to-date contact information when placing your order to ensure efficient delivery.
Different freight service levels:
Threshold Delivery:
Threshold includes interior delivery into the first dry area available. Delivery agents will unload your item(s) and place them in the first dry area available, such as the garage or front entryway. If delivering to an apartment, the carrier will only deliver inside the first floor of the complex.
NOTE: Drivers do not assist with unpacking, setup, or cleanup.
White Glove Delivery:
White Glove includes an interior room of choice upon delivery. The delivery agents will unload and place your item(s) in a room of your choosing. White glove service generally includes unpacking, removal/disposal of packing materials and transporting your order up or down a maximum of two flights of stairs.
NOTE: Unless otherwise stated on product page, this service does not include setup and/or assembly.
Commercial Delivery:
This service is available for commercial business addresses and requires access to an unloading dock. The driver will move the item to the back of the truck, and the member will need to unload the truck, which may require equipment to unload.
NOTE: Drivers do not assist with unloading, unpacking, setup or cleanup. Any other services provided will require additional fees to the member and are payable to the shipping company upon completion.
Can an order be expedited?
If available, the option to expedite shipping is only available during checkout. Unfortunately, there is no option to further expedite delivery after placing an order. Check your email for tracking and an estimated delivery date.
Where can SamsClub.com orders be shipped?
SamsClub.com currently ships to:
- Shipping may not be available to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories (i.e. Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, etc.) and post office boxes.
- Some items may have restrictions that prevent shipment to certain states such as Hawaii or California.
- Sam’s Club does not ship to Canada, Mexico, or other areas outside of the U.S.
What are the shipping regulations for items purchased?
Due to Federal Aviation Administration restrictions, we cannot ship items by air that contain regulated or hazardous materials. Restrictions are usually identified on the product page and these items can only be shipped via ground to the 48 contiguous states.
These items typically fall into 2 categories:
- Aerosol products in pressurized spray cans
- Products that contain flammable, volatile or corrosive chemicals
Will items ship on Saturdays?
Items may ship on Saturday, but may not be processed by the carrier until the next non-holiday weekday. Please check order tracking for the latest updates.
Can I use different "Bill to" and "Ship to" addresses?
If you ship order(s) to an address other than the billing address of your credit or debit card, the order is subject to delays or cancellation. To prevent this, please make sure the settings and contact information of your method of payment are up to date when placing your order.
NOTE: The "ship to" address cannot be altered after the order has been shipped.
Is bulk shipping (single ship address) available?
With an active Sam’s Club membership, you can purchase items in bulk. For more details or to submit a volume request, see Truckloads.
Are Drop Ship Resellers (multiple ship addresses) eligible for free shipping?
Drop Ship Resellers are allowed free shipping on up to a total of 10 different addresses, see terms. Free shipping will not be available to addresses exceeding that limit. Sam’s Club reserves the right to amend the terms of this program in whole or in part, at any time, as determined by the sole discretion of Sam’s Club without notice to the member.
A Drop Ship Reseller is someone who lists Sam’s Club items for sale on a third party site. Restrictions apply when shipping to multiple addresses.
